1 year old keeps waking up soaked....

This last week or so he keeps waking up early in the morning soaked with wee. I know it sounds obvious, but I'm not sure that we are giving him any more to drink at bedtime than we have always done. The only change we have made has been the ready brek we give him at supper now to get him through the night. Although, he didn't have it last night and he was still soaked this morning.

Any ideas? Am trying to get him sleeping through the night (just managed to get his 2.6 yr old sister sleeping through the night!) so I'm trying to avoid waking him up at a certain time to change his nappy.

Any advise would be welcome, thanks.

What nappies are you using?

Recently the Lidl's ones which have always been really good. The Pampers I always find are too small but I haven't tried Huggies for a while. He is in size 5 which seems to fit him grand.

Pampers golden sleep worked for us. My DS did exactly the same for a while, but that is when he was still feeding through the night.

It might just be a case of finding the right nappy to fit your DS's body shape, we've always used asda's own green packet nappies for night time (and the purple ones during the day) and never had a leak. A friend of mine's DS had lots of leaks with the same nappies but other ones worked great for them.

May be completely off the pount here, but I don't suppose he's drinking his bath water is he? DD2 used to do this then split her nappy. Took us ages to work it out

I always put a pair of plastic pants (the type you use with washable nappies) over DS's nappy at night as it helps to keep in the wee and he is less likely to wake up wet.

I also never give him a drink after his evening meal.

you could also try putting a washable nappy booster into the nappy for extra absorbency

I also had this problem with my DS, the only nappies we have found to contain the vast amounts he produces in the night are the Huggies Dry Nights age 4-7. It's ridiculous but they work so we've stuck with it. Lots of my friends with boys have had similar experiences and my 2DDs never leaked. Not sure if boys just wee more

Cross post Blown He does a bit - but he has a bath every other day with his little big sister so Im not sure it's that - although the nappies are really heavy and soaked. Since he has been on cows milk - I have been a bit less consicous of how many ounces he is having in a cup - he is mostly off bottles now apart from bed time, but I usually only fill them half way and take it from there. Maybe I need to monitor the amounts, the bath water and the nappy types!

Iwillnot I might try that too as I think I have one of them. I don't think he would forgo his nighttime bottle tho - that would be a very long evening indeed!

Pampers baby dry (golden sleep) ones here too - took us a while to find that these were the best for ds . Never had a problem with dd.

That's two votes then! I may try them. I just find them quite small. Will check it out today.

i used to put dd in a larger (therefore more absorbant) nappy at night and secure it in place with a poppered bodysuit. The bigger the nappy, the more the absorbancy.

Obviously if your ds is soaked because the nappy is leaking rather than absorbency issues, then please ignore me [grn]
