Viral Throat Infection in 9 year old

Do I send my 9 year old back to school with his viral throat infection tomorrow. He's not got temp, and brighter today but taking ibrufen prescribed by Doc (visited him this eve).

Don't want him to milk it now he know's he's got 'a name' to his sore throat, but then again don't want to doubt him or to pass it on to his friends.

I know, I know should have asked the doctor but my mind always goes blank when I'm in there - thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!

don't send him until his throat stops being sore, not least because he could still pass it on

Ahh thanks for your advice. Nanny said to keep him off for rest of week too, but our schools are so hot here about having time off and attendance etc, they sometimes make me think I should send him in whatever - it't awful really as it's making me more worried about what they think sometimes, and I should be thinking about him not them!!!

I'd have thought that sending him back too soon could backfire as he'll just end up utterly exhausted and could well pick up the next virus going around if his immune system is low. If he's still taking brufen to keep him cheery, that would certainly suggest he's not well enough to go back yet. Hope he's on the mend soon.
