does anyone know of any literature which shows the effects of passive smoking by a parent on their children, in particular babies, where the parent(or visitor) smokes outside the home? All the literature I have found indicates that the smoker smokes indoors, and cannot find anything to demonstrate the risks when the person is outside when smoking (ie then brings smoke in from breath, on clothes etc when picking baby up).

Pavlov - don't have the direct link but the Canadian Lung Association (lung.ca) has quite a lot of info on the effects of what is called "third hand" smoke on babies. HTH.
