Constant Nasal Congestion

I have a 4 month old with constant nasal congestion. Has been this way from first day and not got any better. GP keeps saying as mucus not on his chest not too worried. When really bad, stuggling to breath when feeding then vomiting everything back up. Tried the saline spray, olbas oil and mattress raised from day 1 but no relief. Anyone got any ideas????

Same here with 3 1/2 month old (but only at night). Feeding is fine here, infact it's the only thing that works to clear his nose in the night.

Out of interest, how well is your baby sleeping?

The poor things can't blow their noses to get rid of the snot. Have you tried regular steam treatment? Running the hot taps or shower so that your bathroom is very steamy and then sitting in it with him, sauna-like for 20 mins can help clear the mucus from his chest. A humidifier in the bedroom can also help increase the moisture levels in the atmosphere. And, in a similar vein, don't keep your house too warm/dry. 18C on the thermostat can make breathing easier than if it is 20C+
