Chicken pox - got off lightly?

Sorry - i know this is probably somewhere else at length but a search didn't answer my question.

I remember having chicken pox when i was about 8 and it being murder!

Came home from work yesterday to find my DS had a few spots - don't how school didn't notice or my mother who got him changed!!! He has been coldy since saturday and i did think CP was on it's way (psychic!?!)....anyway, he hasn't woken up this morning with many more than he went to sleep with and he's still perfectly fine. He's ignoring the itching and is in no way subdued. He's a bit hot, but he runs warmer anyway.

Have we got off lightly here? Do some children not get them on their arms and legs and also feel fine? Or is that likely to get worse?

Thanks

C x

My ds has chicken pox at the moment too (3yo) he had one spot on day 1, a few on day two, then lots on day 3. None on his arms or legs though. The spots only seem to bother him at night (itching). Slight complication with him in that he had 24 hours of D&V too (caught from his younger sibling who has had it for several days).

Hi my ds had them very mild, no more than 40 spots, they come out in crops and after day 2/3 stop appearing. I think Irtysh have it bad then it's pretty instant. My friends ds had them mild too and then her dd had them couple weeks later really bad, in ears, in her lady bits, near eyes, she was covered. Hope you get off lightly like me. X

When I was little my older brother had them so badly all over him, in his eyes, up his bum, everywhere. I had one spot. My sister had about three. Think he got our share, bless him!

bless them all. Thanks for all that. He's still fine in himself and no more spots. still being really good - not scratching.

Thanks again

DS1 has chicken pox - lots of spots but not really itching them or ill in any other way, feel we are being let off lightly, so far.
Waiting for DS2 to catch it though...
