4mo with chesty cough. What do I do

Hello

My DD is 4 months old and has had a cough for the past couple of days which is now sounding chesty. Otherwise, she's a bit more grumbly than usual (esp towards the end of the day) but generally OK - same no. of wet nappies, slightly shorter feeds but not much shorter, no temp. What can I do to help get rid of her cough?

Thanks

Just to say that I have now managed to get the search function to work without crashing my computer and that DD is now asleep (well, in her cot and quiet so hopefully asleep!) with the cot propped up and a wet towel on the radiator and DP is going to go via the pharmacy on his way home from work later to pick up some karvol or something similar which you can use on an under 6 monther.

I think you can use 'Snuffle rub' on 3months+? which might be soothing, but if she's now asleep and breathing softly and regularly then sounds as though she's coping really well. You're doing all the right things, I'm sure. Hope she's much better soon.

(Your GP is the next port of call to ensure any chestiness isn't a sign of infection if you're worried about her. Unfortunately coughs do last longer than the cold itself.)
