3yr old ds never has erections should i worry?

Title says it all really. ds1 age 6 has had them since babyhood. ds2 nearly three never does. and he keeps saying his bottom hurts but when i asked him this morning to point to where he pointed to his scrotum. will book appointment with gp but as that won't be for a couple of days thought i'd see if anyone here knows anything about this and whether it's likely to be a problem or not. thanks.

I was worried about DS1 for similar reasons but when I spoke to the HV (who consulted with her colleagues and various GPs) she said it was perfectly normal and not to be concerned until puberty.
