Very sore bum- allergic to nappies?

My DS (10m) has had a really sore bum for the past couple of weeks. Very angry red looking, with blood oozing occasionally. I took him to the Drs last week and he diagnosed a fungal infection, but after a week of anti-fungal cream nothing has changed. I've tried Metanium (normally wonder cream), Sudocreme, bathing daily, different wipes, so now I am starting to wonder whether it could be the nappies. He has been in pampers since he was born, but a couple of weeks ago (when the sore-ness started) I started using the next size up.

Has anyone else had a similar experience, or have any suggestions to make?

I'd stop the wipes.

Use cheapo kitchen roll dipped in cold camomile tea.

and leave the nappy off to let the air to get to it as often as possible.

Could be the nappies....they change the 'ingredients' in them every now and again.
