How can I help 3yo perk up after virus?

We have had a string of minor illnesses culminating in severe d+v virus last weekend. DS1 (3yo) is over the symptoms but it's left him with little appetite and as a result he tires very easily and just doesn't have much energy, is v tetchy and extra sensitive too.

I'll take him to the gp if no improvement over the weekend but just wondered if there's anything i can give in terms of food/drink/supplements that might help his recovery?

plenty of sugary drinks (even if nornally contraband)? works for my dd
especially peanut butter milkshake made with vanilla icecream. oodles of calories and easy on the tummy.

hope he gets well soon.

Ooh ice cream is a great idea although I couldn't even tempt him with his favourite pink milk today!

no to pink milk - he must be ill

sometimes with my DD I can tempt her to eat/drink by offering something new and exciting-looking. perhaps if he's well enough a trip to the corner shop to let him choose?

I'd say this stuff
