Getting 3 1/2 year old to take medicine

Poor DS1 has tonsilitus and chicken pox at the same time. He is on antibiotics from the Dr and also I am keen to give him antihistamine to stop the itching and a painkiller for the painful throat / temperature etc. He is getting more and more difficult to convince to take any medication at all. He has always been an easy child to medicate - happy to take anything and everything but this time what a nightmare

I have probably been doing all the wrong things - bribery and threats but no luck.

Any help would be gratefully received

He may have spots in his mouth so don't push it to much. Chicken poxs seams bad at the time but it really over quickley. Try putt some porage oat in a pop sock or similar and hand in the running water while you run him a bath it really works great for eczema as well. I would keep going with the bribery. Ice cream may help as it cold. Hope it gets well soon.
