Is it normal to have so many vomiting bugs?

My 17 month old dd has been throwing up for the last 24 hours. She's clearly got a bug of some kind, but this is the 4th pukey thing she's had since September. Wld you be worried about that? It's worth mentioning that she started nursery in September two days a week, so she's probably picking them up there. They seem to follow similar pattern. She doesn't seem particularly unhapy, although a bit clingy and extra thumb sucky; she doesn't want to eat, but can tolerate water and a bit of toast. ate half a banana this morning. Usually better after two or three days. Is this normal toddler bugdom or something I shld be taking her to the doctor about?

If you're worried, always go to see your doctor for reassurance. It's never a wasted trip and a good doctor would rather you went along and it's 'nothing' than you sat at home worried and maybe it turns out to be 'something' - if you see what I mean.

Viruses whip round nurseries because none of the inmates have much resilience, being so young. Do ask the nursery staff about their hygiene procedures. Have other parents at the nursery reported that their children are getting ill. Teething can result in sickness or diarrhoea in some kids. Otherwise, I think all you can do is keep your daughter well-nourished, up to date with the vaccinations and hope she's developing some antibodies to common bugs.

thanks very much chil - very helpful. dd is teething, but i don't think it would make her this sick. i'll keep an eye on it and go to doctor if i'm any more worried
