Any advice to help very chicken-poxy 2yo?

Hello helpful MNers!

DD1 (4yo) had chicken pox 2 weeks ago, wasn't too bothered by it, and is fine now. But, of course, now DD2 has got it. She's 2yo tomorrow (great birthday present, huh?) and has is so much worse than DD1 (I've heard that happens cos of the huge dose of the virus that siblings can pass to each other instead of a small dose from another child in passing).

Anyway, poor mite is a ball of misery. She's more spot than child... they're all over her face, neck, back, front, even the palms of her hands, on her lips, and I suspect the inside of her mouth cos she's dribbling and won't eat.

We've given her Piriton and ibuprofen, even put oatmeal in her bath tonight, but she keeps waking up crying every few minutes and is scratching like crazy even though the spots haven't begun to scab over yet.

Any other tips on how to make her feel better? Can't really pop out and get anything else tonight but maybe something else we could try tomorrow?

Eurax lotion is v good. As well as bicarb of soda in the bath to help sooth and ward off infection.

Try giving ice lollies to sooth the mouth and get liquids into her.

Poxclin from Boots is excellent, it's a foam especially for chilcken pox, ds1 used to sigh in relief when I put it on him (he cried when we out calomine lotion on him). It also helps reduce scarring. Ds has three scars all from the spots we used calomine lotion on before we got the poxclin.
I also think there's another one out there too, but I'm not sure of the name, think you can get it in tesco.
Don't use calomin lotion it dries them up and makes the itching worse.
Hope she feels better soon.
