Teething or growth spurt or what?

Okay, ladies, I need your collective wisdom -is this 3mo teething or what?

  1. Grumbly lots of the day and chewing or wanting to feed most of the time.
  1. Very unsettled night last night
  1. Didn't nap all morning. Normally drops off once or twice before 1pm, didn't doze until nearly 2pm despite pram trip, cuddling, jiggling etc.
  1. Not settling well tonight (normally totally silent from 7pm until 10pm)

He does have a very white tooth bud just below the surface of his bottom gum, but it hasn't broken through. Not excessively drooly or red cheeked, just a bit of a spit rash on his chin from dabbing his fingers on it. Tried giving him some Calpol at 5pm, doesn't seem to have helped.

Could it just be a growth spurt? He's still smiley on occasion, but lots of grumping generally. Suspect it's going to be a long night whatever the prognosis, but advice and experience welcome...

Growth spurt I would guess. Mine did lots of fist chewing etc at that age and we thought maybe it was the start of teething but then he didn't get teeth until 8 months.

I hope he has settled.
