DD2 is 2 years old, and been being sick since yesterday morning at 6am, and still doign it. She wont eat a thing and fluids are coming striaght back up. Her temp is 39.8 and has come down a little with a fan on her but meds are being sicked up too. Shes had a bath, and is laying on sofa in just nappy and a fan on. Thing is she has not moved all day, is dozing on and off, hating being touched and saying very little.
We saw GP last night about sickness and he said bug but im worried about how sleepy and dozy she is.

her skin is very dry and has patches of skin that now look red and sore.

DarrellRivers · 22/02/2010 12:52

Thanks for the update misdee
Hope she gets better soon, she didn't sound too well.
Fingers crossed she hasn't got a skin infection on top of being dehydrated

misdee · 22/02/2010 13:47

her glands were all up, but looks like they will be sending her home.

DarrellRivers · 22/02/2010 16:46

good

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 22/02/2010 17:29

home now. The GP sent us straight to A&E where we waited for hours with DD2 pretty much passed out on the chairs. They finally saw us about 11pm, where 3 doctors then all got thier knickers twisted as all if DD2 lypth nodes where swollen and they wanted to do tests. Did bloods whech showed infection and then they could decide if they needed to scan her so agreed to wait for specialist in the morning. He said all ok and we are home with DD2 back on the sofa but not being sick. Thanks ladies

Scarlet fever? sounds like it.

psychomum5 · 22/02/2010 17:54

what was / is the infection. Is she on AB's now??

psychomum5 · 22/02/2010 17:55

lots of sympathy for the being in hospital by the way.

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 22/02/2010 18:56

they dont know where the infection is and they havent given us AB, as they think its viral infection. Shes still very sleepy, and being sick

psychomum5 · 22/02/2010 19:28

if she gets worse again, take her back. I have had that with DD3 once, and they missed her having tonsilitis and a wee infection!!

hope she does get better tho.

lisad123wantsherquoteinDM · 22/02/2010 19:42

def not wee infection or tonsilitis as they checked. Just made me that 3 different doctors couldn't work out if her lynpth nodes were a concern and then this mornings doc just kinda waved it away iyswim.
One doctor last next wanted to see her in a few weeks to check nodes, but told now its not needed

We've possibly got something similar - my duaghter also 2 was sick three times the Saturday before last. Wasnt too bad - quite sleepy. Husband and son promptly came down with it too. However last Saturday (i.e a week later) she started being sick again (after about 3 days of normal-ish health) - Sunday she was asleep pretty much all day and night. Diarrhea and vomiting on Monday. Yesterday OK, more diarhhea and vomiting today.

Is there some major bug going round? It seems to go away and then come back with avengence!
