really shocked that she has it so young. first noticed the blisters yesterday moning, how many days till the illness peaks?

I really am gearing myslf up for sleepless nights and constant bathing moisturising with camomile cream but also aware that babies can get it mild.

anyone experiences this so young and how long did it take to really get going? she seems happy enough mild temp but only taking 3oz per feed (normally 5oz). Should i try to get her to take more milk. I had tntitively stated baby ice this week but should i stop that now?

TIA for your experiences

ds had it at about 6 months and seemed to cope much better with it then his 4 year old sister. It takes 5-7 days for the spots to appear and blister. DSr has also been unfotunate and has just had shingles at the age of 3 - poor sod!

DS had it at 10 weeks having caught it off his sis.

He got a much milder verison (apparently as I am immune) which means he has now had chickenpox 4 times as he only has partial immunity which is a bugger.

I found with both DC that they got sick then got the spots. Once the spots were out they didn't seem ill but the spots are painfully itchy for them. Dose with calpol, anti histimine and get some calamine lotion to dab on (absolutely useless but m akes you feel like you are doing something!)
