I feel at the end of my tether and just want to moan I guess. My dd (5) gets frequent ear infections every winter but this winter it has been almost constant. She has been on antibiotics for most of the time since November. Everytime she gets a cold - and she gets everyone going - its only a matter of days before it turns into an ear infection. She has steroid spray, antihistamines etc and NOTHING seems to stop the ear infections. I am so sick of her being on antibiotics and being porrly. My doctor won't refer her to a specialist because she doesn't get them in summer! This winter has been miserable, utterley miserable.

I would ask for a proper hearing tests at least. Constant infections can cause glue ear, temporary hearing loss and lead to attention issues which affect schooling. If so it may be good to get gromits done.

Defo ask for a referral - ask to see another GP if they refuse. Our GP was very reluctant to refer to ENT (we ended going private and paying for initial consultation) and ENT surgeon was surprised how bad DS's ears were and immediately booked him in for Grommets (which were fab BTW)

My DD got relief through cranial oestopathy, it seemsed to help 'drain' them. She hawk cough up phlegm after getting them done and say that she could hear better. Sorry if TMI
