Hi. I took my 13 week old baby to the surgery today for her second round of vaccines. Just before she had the vaccine I mentioned to the nurse that she had a fever and was bit poorly with the last vaccine. The nurse then said to me " oh well are you happy for her to have this vaccine, she might have a worse reaction this time around". I understood that this was a normal reaction but she alarmed me by telling me that it could mean that she may go on to a severe reaction to any future vaccines. The nurse then went to see if she could speak a doctor but as one wasn't one available she then spoke to the health visitor making it sound like was a panicky mother who didn't want her child vaccinated. I left the surgery in tears. The nurse made me another appointment to discuss with a GP in a few days time. Please could you tell if any of your little ones had a fever with the first vaccine and whether future vaccines were worse.

Mnay thanks

A very mild fever with the 8 week jabs. Fine with all the others (apart from single jabs instead of MMR, she's now 2yo). However, look into your family history and see if there are any issues or if it was just a fever for the 1st jabs.
