I assume it must be a lymph node but when he turns his head to the side I can really see it sticking out. It moves around and feels right under the skin is about the size of a big pea, maybe baked bean. Can anyone reassure me? Will be taking him dr next week but I will worry. He has one the other side similar size, little smaller but it doesn't stick out like this... HELP worried mummy xx

My DS age 5 has one and has had it for a couple of years....he's well in himself, eats well, active etc...GP not concerned..think it's pretty common tbh

Was just about to start a thread myself...found one on dd's(12mo) neck a couple of days ago...it's on the side, more toward the back...sized like a big pea- and she does not have a corresponding one on the other side- is that normal? She hasn't been sick either, and eats like a maniac.

My ds1 used to get that. Got it checked out and GP said it was nothing to worry about.

Could be a cyst, I've got one and doc said if it didn't go within 3 months, it'd be there forever. Nothing to worry about though, unless it starts getting bigger. Gives me something to play with at work.

Thought it had gone but caught sight of it again today, anyone elses dc with this? X

My Ds has exactly the same, comes and goes a bit, but sometimes I can see it under the skin. Lively and healthy; mentioned it to nurse, said nothing to worry about. Will ask GP next time I am there, but not going to go specially as it's been there for ages. (I am learning not to be world's worst panicker, though it has taken me 3 DCs and 13 years to get better). Am currently pancking as youngest DS ran full into edge of the door on way to bed as being chased by oldest DS... now got great big bump on head with a cut on top if it...
