Off colour and vomiting? Not sure what to do!

Hi, my DD 2years has been a bit off colour for a week, with the occasional very unpleasant nappy (not all of them). She has thrown up twice this week, and is just not herself. I'm not sure if I should take her to the doc (and say what - she's not quite as happy as normal) or if it's just a virus in which case don't they have to run their course? She did say yesterday "tummy hurt" but forgot about it instantly. Anyone else with an illness atm?

I was just about post about dd2. She is very poorly atm, with swine flu and a bad sickness bug that is doing the rounds.

If it just the occassional bout of sickness just keep an eye on her and keep her fluids up. Dd2 has been sick constantly since Sunday and can barely keep anything down, but they won't see her, unless she is still as poorly tomorrow or starts showing visible signs of dehydration.

Dss school and more than a handful of friends workplaces have reported that Norovirus is 'happily' doing the rounds.

I'd advise ring the GP to explain symptoms saying that obviously you don't want to have to take a potentially contagious child in if it can be avoided and see what they suggest.

Hope all the DCs on this thread feel better soon!

TY for the reply! DD doesn't have signs of dehydration and could win a gold medal in water drinking. I was just worrying as it's been going on for a week since the first bad nappy. I'll keep an eye on her and take her to the doc if no improvement in a couple of days.

for your DD with swine flu and a bug - that must be awful. Hope she has a speedy recovery and a very un-mumsnetty (hug)
