Annoying cough

My DS has an annoying tickly cough, he's 7. His room is small and gets quite stuffy, should I leave his window open slightly overnight? I worry about it going into a dry cough as he gets croup.

Thanks Pixie. He's had a cold so the cough is the end of that. Slept okay last night, but coughing again now, so I'm expecting to be up in the night with him
