She gets every bloody bug going, and gets it twofold. it's alwys been the same!! She has had asthma lungs, the night cough since a baby. Altho it's got better over the past 3 yrs, as they said it would, it just takes over.

i do all the inhaler stuff but when she gets a cough she gets a cough. Noone else in her class seems to get all the bugs like this.

grrr

i'm with you - my DS2 gets everything going. we are lucky if we get four or five days clear before the next bug hits. since he was born he's had countless colds, four ear infections, one chest infection, one stomach bug and a couple of high temps for a few days for no real reason. BTW he's only nine months old..

i wouldn't mind but he's a really well built baby who eats fabulously..all his fruit and veg etc. it makes no sense to me..oh and i BF him until he was five months which i know isn't that long by most of the mumsnet crew but still not bad.

and yes it does make for a very long and tedious time. cuddles and attention are needed ALL day - nothing gets done for weeks on ned and it drives me nuts!

ps did i read that right DD7?! you deserve a medal for that alone! i can barely cope with two children!

lol dd is 7 years old, but I'll have that medal anyway!!

Has your ds been diagnosed with asthma?

my dd is a poor eater, so you saying it's not just a nutritional thing with your son makes me feel a tad better.

no, he hasn't got asthma but he does have an inhaler as colds quite easily go to his chest. i'm resigned to the fact that for some reason he just has zero immune system. i even give him vitamin drops but that has made no difference.

it's so hard to tell if its the coughing asthma or just that they have a weaker chest. i don't thik there is a deinitve answer, and prob the inhalers canhelp in some cases and not so in others. I have been doing my dd's inhalers, but this time it's not having any effect to ease the coughing. it's impossible for her to breath any of it in for starters!

She is off today. I expected to be able to take her in today, but when i went into her, her long hair was soaked thru. Her pillow damp,as she must have had a fever in the night. Still coughing and now has an earache and tummy ache. meh
