Worried about 4 month old

I know this is going to sound trivial but I'm worried about my 4 month old DD.

She has had a cough and cold for a week although she is slowly getting better.

The thing that is worrying me is that she just isn't taking much milk at all. Yesterday she had a total of 18oz's all day which isn't much and she has been like this for a few days now.

Her nappies have still been wet but possibley not as wet as usual.

I know I'm probably being a bit ott but think I just need some reasurance

18oz is not too bad in a day. My dd is months old and weaning obviously but she has about 10oz when poorly but I try to get water down her too. The dr always tells me if they are having about half the amount they normally have then that's ok but less than that get her checked. Hope that helps. If she was dehydrated signs to look for, dry mouth, dry nappies, crying but no tears etc. Hope she's better soon it's so stressful when they're small xx

Thanks Charlie, She is having more than half her usual amount so that is really reasuring. She isn't showing any of the signs of dehydration you described either.

It really is so worrying when they are so small, thanks for replying, you've put my mind at rest

My 5mo DD has had a few colds (and currently has a cough too ). I have taken her to the GP previously as I was worried about her breathing and although I was clearly being a PFB mum, they were really good and reassuring.

If you're at all worried, make an appointment. Your GP will be used to it and I find they're always happy to see a baby if the parent is worried.

Yes I agree, if your worried take your baby into see the doctor. On a normal feeding, my daughter only drinks around 24 oz in a day, which is not that much more than your baby and my daughter is 3 1/2 months old.
