How often to toddlers get tummy bugs/ill?

DD has just thrown up this morning and is very lethargic and clingy. I'm thinking its a normal illness but this will be her third in three months.

Each time she vomits without diarrhoea she is investigated for a uti as she had one last summer. So she had a tummy bug in November, then another which turned out to be a chest infection in mid-December and then again this morning.

Is this normal toddler illness or could she be more susceptible to infection? She also fell out of her bed last night and I'm worried she's got concussion.

Please bear in mind this is my pfb and I'm probably worrying about nothing.

is she at nursery???they pick up everything there for the first 6 months they are there till thier immunity kicks in

I remember worrying about the same thing with ds. My local gp told me the average toddler gets 14 viruses a year.. more than one a month

hope this puts your mind at rest a bit

Thanks FM, she goes to a cm once a week and had her birthday party with other toddlers last week so maybe that's where she's picked something up.

14 viruses a year is reassuring as she just seems to get back to normal and then she gets another one.
