Erythema multiforme

Anyone had any experience with Erythema multiforme? 18 month DS has had it twice now from head to foot. Doctor says it's an allergic reaction but we can't figure out to what. Has not taken any medication but has just recovered from winter vomiting bug, and information sourced online says it can follow an antecedent infection. Have been giving him piriton and calpol (when he gets hot) and applying calamine lotion. It looks quite shocking although he's been in good spirits. Not sure whether it's something we'll just have to live with or if treatment is available?

it can be a hypersensitivity reaction to an infection. Has it affeced the mucus membranes or is it on the skin only. It can recurr but hopefully it wont if it is very bad i believe they give a short course of steroids to reduce the inflammation. Poor little might.Hope he gets better soon. It should clear up within 2-3 weeks.

Thanks for your reply. It's just on the skin with one mark on his tongue- we're just going to have to wait for it to pass I guess.

I am bumping to see if LG25 is still around and how long it takes to clear. My 10 month old dd has this and am really worried.
