I think DS 15m has conjunctivitis. Do I need to do anything?

DS 15 months has had a cold for a few days, and this afternoon I noticed greeny/yellow discharge in the corner of each eye. The corners are also a little pink and he is rubbing them. Do I need to do anything, take him to the pharmacist, or avoid doing anything?

My sister-in-law used good ol breastmilk in her childrens eyes when they got conjunctivitus. From memory - it worked too!

Breastmilk does work, if you're not BF though it's worth popping along to the chemist for some drops. Conjunctivitus can get quite nasty and be very contagious. Hope he's feeling better soon.

Thank you - have tried breastmilk, will see how it goes overnight and then might try the chemist.

Got a lot better with two doses of breastmilk - thanks for the tip. Will carry on over the weekend and see how it goes.
