Your tips please - getting antibiotics into baby

Can anyone help? DS2 (8 weeks) is quite poorly and has been prescribed antibiotics. I've spent today trying to get the first couple of doses in him using a syringe but he's spitting it straight out and screaming. Doc suggested putting the dose into a teat which he can suck, which is what she did with her own baby, but that doesn't work either.
I really don't think he's taken any of his medicine so far and need to get it in him so the poor little thing can start to get better.
Any suggestions on how to administer so that he will actually swallow it?
Thanks for your help- will check back later as have to take DS1 for his swine flu jab now

Use the syringe, just put tiny amounts at a time in his mouth, don't squirt it in.

You'll be there all day dipping the dummy in it.

go and ask the doc for Amoxil paediatric.( The Brand) It comes as a 1.25ml dosage instead of the 5ml. It is a nicer flavour and it is much easier to get such a small quantity into their mouths. It tastes of tropical fruits and is much nicer than amoxycillin or penicillin

I often put meds in with their milk, if it's not too nasty they usually don't notice.
Otherwise small amounts at a time from a syringe. Put it into his cheek, rather than down his throat, this tends to induce an automatic swallow.
Good luck!

Sorry it's taken so long to reply - yesterday evening went out of the window. Will persevere with the syringe and hope more of it goes in him than on his babygro.
Thanks for the replies

Try a cup we did this with DD and just sort of tipped it in.
