Has anyone heard about RSV ?? DD was born 7 weeks premature and is now suffering from it. GP says its a respiratory virus but I need to find more information. She's being given monthly jabs for treatment. Does anybody know of any source that might be able to give me more information on this? any website? anybody else who's dealt with this before?
Thanks

What info are you looking for ? RSV is a very common virus (ie it causes the common cold in adults and children) but can have some nasty side effects such as bronchioilitis in young babies. It is one of the most common causes of hospitalisation in under 1's, usually treated with a nebuliser/inhaler to ease breathing and fluids for dehydration. In itself though the virus isn't necessarily dangerous and you can have it with no symptoms.
