9 month old in lots of pain when she poos

DD2 is 9 months. She is in pain for anywhere between 10-30mins each time she poos (3+ times a day). She only gets a tiny bit out and its rock solid. She screams while doing it and is really in pain - quite happy the rest of the day.

Have seen the GP, HV and pharmasist who have all just said she is too young for anything. HV was quite concerned but didn't have any answers that I hadn't already tried. GP wasn't bothered, said it would pass, even though its been weeks and still not passed.

Have tried:
Fruit
Lots of fluids
Orange juice etc
Vasaline
tummy massage
pushing her legs up/doing bike legs etc
warm baths
Changing her milk

I don't know what else to do. We are changing our GP sursery so that she can have a second opinion but they won't register us till friday and wont book the appointment till after she has been registered.

Hi my DD had trouble pooing for quite a few weeks although she was younger than your DD she actually got prescribed lactulose and this seemed to do the trick.

Hopefully new gp mite help.

My 20 month old went through a similar thing - very distressing! We got lactulose solution from the pharmasist. He said it was very gentle and wouldn't lead to the runs. It worked a treat. My DS not good at taking medicine, so I added it to his bottle, and he didn't notice. All the best.

They have told me she is too young for lactulose? Forgot to say it has been going on for a month or so now but has got worse in the last week.
