We get over one thing and another one comes (

We give C&G Comfort to DD because she had colics, this formula is made for constipated babies too; so I am really worried when last week she was constipated for two days, had a darty nappy on sunday but not again since then. I called the HV but she has got the answer phone on.

DD does look a bit uncomfortable and she sleeps worse at nights.

Is there anything we can do or give her?

hanks for reading.

Oh dear sounds like you are having fun. I'm not an expert but dd did slow down on the dirty nappy front when she got to about this age so might not be anything to worry about. Did your dd look like she was struggling when she did poo (sorry for being so direct but what else can you say ) A friend of mine found she had to carry cooled boiled water in a bottle for her lo and give him constant sips to keep everything moving ok. HTH

Thanks for replying.

I know! Well she doesn't seem to have problems when she does go, and the stools are not hard. I am trying to give her boiled water see if that helps. DP's mum told me to give her sugar in the water, but surely that can't be good?? I'll take the water with me everywhere too and try to remember to give it to her.

hmm grandmothers and sugar water! Personally I wouldn't bother as it can cause a real sweet tooth problem and just offer plain water. She may not drink loads but she will get used to it and my dd now 9.5 mths gulps away when having her meals. From what you say it may just be her system developing. From my experience of seeing constipated babies you can tell they are straining and getting upset.

It worked She only took it in little sips but by the night she did go. I don't know who was more relieved, her or me!

I will just carry on giving her a little water between feeds to keep her "moving".
