Hi. We've had our first appointment for dd pcahms referal come through today. Can anyone tell me what to expect please?

What does pcamhs stand for? Is it the sam,e as CAMHS?

is this camhs?
are you having family therapy?

primary care(?) and mental health service I think. It's for behavour problems with dd.

My dd(9) saw CAHMS last year due to phobia issues. She used to play/draw etc while the lady talked to her. Sometimes I stayed, sometimes I was asked to leave (that may depend on their age I guess). hth.

Sorry. It did help in that they gave her coping strategies but she is by no means cured. I know phobias are tricky things as the behavoiur learned is so deeply programmed inside her. However she is much better for going.
