Where have the (chicken pox) spots gone????

Whilst bathin my ds last night I noticed 3 red blotches along his nappy line one on his shoulder and one on his foot all with little lumps in the middle. By the time he went to bed he had more than 20 all over his body. He has had a cold for over a week and something like conjunctivitis which only lasted two days. I was sure this was chicken pox and google images seemed to confirm this.

He has woke this moring and they have all gone bar the one on his shoulder, which is just visiable. I dont know now whether this is chicken pox and whether they might reappear. Anybody experienced anything like this before?

I've never heard of chicken pox spots going overnight usually they blister etc.. My little boy has hives like this - I've thought he had chicken pox several times as they look exactly the same - for him I finally figured out was a food allergy to fish oils.. did he eat anything different yesterday?

No he eat pretty much the same as he normally does. Id never heard of them disappearing either. I guess i will just have to wait and see if anything else develops.

Ive just googles hives and they looked nothing like that. These were definate individual marks, red approx size of a penny with a spot/lump in the middle almost like insect bites.

size of a penny would be HUGE chicken pox!! Dh gets similar and they are actually heat lumps, they can look pretty serious but then are gone next day!!
