DD 8 tall and skinny seem to have put on weight round her chest. She happy to think it muscle development. Could it be puberty or just puppy fat as she pretty skinny every where else.

If it is her starting to develop boobs how long till we need to think crop tops or starter bras. She seen to young for all that so hope it not in the near future.

dd is 9 and has breast buds and is obviously developing. she has some crop tops that she wears sometimes, nowhere near ready for bra's yet.

she also has fine darker pubic hair and a few sprouts under her arms.

I think all 8/9 yr old girls go through apuppy fat stage. You'll soon see if its puberty or not.

When you say you'll soon see. What kind of time span as dd a bit nerve about the whole growing up thing.

well my dd def put on lots of weight when she was about 8/9.

But then didn;t start her periods till she was 14. But obviously boobs and hair grew during that time, she is now tall and very lanky. It can be a slow process so she will have time to come to terms with all the changes.

if you do think she needs a crop top, M and S do some very soft unstrctured ones which provide modesty more than support which is what they need when boobs are first growing.

Thanks, looked at the m&s thinking they might have something in the sale no luck. She's got vests at the moment so will see in the spring hopefully take some of the embarrassment away.

Her skin was all itchy round her chest last night and this morning she's telling me it fells like she got bruises under her nipples and one of her nipples is tender.

I tried to reassure her with the fact it normal and told her of a friend who was start to develop. She burst in to tears "she 11 and I'm only 8 I don't want boobs yet I'm to little and people will tease.

Any tips to help her though this delicate stage.
