He had croup on 23/24 and seemed better though started sounding more loose coughing today - seemed happy enough till aorund half 6 when putting to bed he had wheels or small clusters of blisters - like nettle rash eprhaps - thought reaction to something so gave piriton at 7pm and a bath and after seemed to have gone down by which time out of hrs place had rang back and said would leave and to ring back if got worse - putting to bed he crying and saying my neck my neck - gave calpol and he went off but ten mins later woke sobbign again then went off again till about 8.40 then woke really distressed saying neck again and coughing - rang back out of hrs who said half 10 to bring over but if worried go to a and e as next door and prob get seen sooner as quiet. Have now given nurofen as thought could be ears and off he has gone

Hope all is ok, has he has a temp at all? Both dd's have had a similar thing on and off for a few weeks but they had a very high temp for 4 days.

Hope you hear something from dh soon.

Its hard when they can't tell you whats wrong, i'm always taking dd2 to A&E, she has Autism and can't tell me whats wrong, she always gets really high temp when ill (40+) and refuses to drink so i panic and take her in as i worry about dehydration. Its always best to get them checked out.

nappyzonecantrunfortoffee · 27/12/2009 21:20

Your right it is - he will be wretched tired - just wish id took an appointment earlier now grrrrrrr

Dd1 had a rash around her neck and chest which seemed to come and go, dd2 didn't have a rash, both had coughs (dd2 gets croup), high temp, one minute they were running around and then flaked out on and off for a week. Dd1 is still coughing (i can hear her now).

I hope he is well Nappyzone.

if your instincts are he is not well you have definitely done the right thig.

{{Sends a big hug to nappyzone and poorly ds.}}

Last time i took dd2 in to A&E she was so floppy, hadn't eaten or drank for over 24 hours, she refused to take a drink from me. Within a hour of being there (after a long wait) they had her eating and drinking after a few hours she was sat up doing a puzzle and we were sent home.

I think i have taken her in 3 or 4 times this year, they must think 'OMG its that mad mother back again'.

nappyzonecantrunfortoffee · 27/12/2009 21:27
