Checking for nits and found a small white scab on ds's and dd's scalp

Didn't find any nits, but ds had a small whiteish scab on his scalp and so did dd. Dd's looks like a build up of dry skin but not sure about ds's as he did have a scalp infection just about the same time last year.

I wash their hair in the bath in clean water but am wondering if maybe it's because I am not rinsing the soap out enough ??

Really hoping it doesn't require a trip to the doctors.

Dead skin can look like that. It could be soap. You don't say how old they are - infantile eczema up to two is entirely normal and that can present as small white scabs (well they aren't but they look like them).

Sorry, they are 10 and 7.

Ds's doesn't look as angry as when he had the scalp infection, so fingers crossed it isn't that.

Ringworm? www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/001439.htm]

Don't think it is ringworm, have seen that on someone and it didn't look like this.

Have checked them again this morning, and dd's patch seems to have gone, but she has a terribly dry scalp, lots of dandruff.

Ds's scab is still there but is nothing like when he had the scalp infection so fingers crossed it will go.

My mum is going to pick me up some Vosene medicated shampoo when she is out tomorrow. I used t-gel on ds before but can't afford that.
