smell and green discharge isn't normal, please see GP. LOs can get thrush etc as well

have you checked that she hasn't put anything ...ahem....up there? some children like to put small objects in small places

don't use soap or bubble bath in case she is sensitive

Beauregard · 20/12/2009 23:31

To my knowledge she hasnt put anyhting in there but she is always fiddling so possible .Right will try and have a look in the morning.
Thanks

That's an infection, and if she fiddles a lot I would check for Playmobil/Hama Beads/peas.

alypaly · 20/12/2009 23:58

if it smells and it is green it is likely to be a trichomanas infection which needs metronidazole. A green infection is quite unusual in one so young?Thrush (candida albicans) which is more common in children, is normally white and cottage cheese like.
bacterial vaginosis is normally greyish white.

She needs a swab to check what the infection is.

my friend found a crayola crayon in her daughters vagina at 3 years old!

Beauregard · 22/12/2009 13:08

Right i had a quick nosy this morning and i cant see anything.Have booked her in for tomorrow with GP.It is just weird how it seems to come and go so i wasnt sure what it could be.

Thanks for the bump alypaly

Well the GP said it seems like an infection(i kept a pair of pull ups to show him)I have to try and get a swab before he will treat it with any meds.

Watchtheworldcomealiveton.. how strange that it should just go.Hope dd's isnt the same.

OP posts:
alypaly · 24/12/2009 01:55

why would he not swab her or get a female nurse to do it.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 24/12/2009 06:16

That's strange, like alypaly said, why not just swab her there and then.
My dd had a really stinky bit yesterday, she is very reluctant to wash and is a bit of a soap dodger.

Beauregard · 24/12/2009 20:38

No idea why he didnt do the swab

OP posts:
Beauregard · 09/01/2010 23:24

well i waited til monday to do the swab but not sure that i did it right as i didnt want to be messing too much or hurt her.Gonna call next week for result but if it is negative then will say that i suspect i did it wrong.

You can't do a swab wrong, unless you use the handle of the stick rather than the cotton bit, and that is unlikely.
