Hi
Thanks for starting a new thread. Hope your little ones ear is feeling a little better though.

Right, I will post pics when my OH has a chance to help me as I am not sure how to do it. Hopefully tomorrow. From what you have described though I am guessing its going to look the same.

Have you ever noticed a pattern to it though. Like now, my daughters eye has been bad for a few days but she seems unwell. Sounds croaky, definitly displaying teething symptoms, very clingy and miserable. Most times she has had the bad eye, looking back it has coincided with her being like this. She also had a night this week where the other eye went the same. I managed to get a photo of this to show thw hospital.

I dont know what to think, my doc seems quite keen on the allergy issue so I cant believe that this has not really come up for you...its so wierd isnt it. Another doc we saw said this kind of thing is "quite common" with colds and teething ! I just feel totally confused and I just want it sorted. Could it be teething for your child or are all his teeth through now ?

One thing I wanted to ask you, I noticed on your previous post that at one appointmnet they mentioned a hemanginoma to you. Did anything ever come of that ? That scared me to be honest.

How often does your little one get it now ? My daughters seems to last a week or 2 and then go for a week or even a month.

Thank you for posting all your details as well, its nice to talk to someone who knows what I am talking about. I will post some pics as soon as I am able and I will let you know what our hospital appointment brings on Monday. To be honest I am panicing about what they might say, I feel very stressed about it all and I just want my baby girl to be okay.....its hard to get on with Xmas with this hanging over us. My OH seems relaxed and is confident that it will sort itself out.
Chat soon, look out for my pics as I will def try to put them on soon.

Hi Bumbly
Will try to post pics tonight, my OH has promised to show me what to do ! I need to get them sorted out anyway to take to the hospital tomorrow.

We are in Birmingham so are going to the Bham Childrens Hospital. The private opthamologist consultant we seen was in Leamington Nuffield Hospital, Dr Misson or something like that. He seemed to think that whatever it was would disappear with growth, so it will be interesting to see what the NHS version is. My thinking deep down is that if it was anything serious then the private specialist would have found something as he was examining her for about an hour. However tonight I still feel sick with worry. My doctor has referred us to general paediatrics tomorrow and take it from there.

About the hemanginoma, i looked on the internet and it doesnt seem likely to me. It sounds like they are there and then they grow so why would the problem be intermittent, if anything surely it would just keep getting worse closing the eye totally, what do you think? My doc has never mentioned this, nor has private specialist.

Right better go as we still havnt had dinner, been out doing some Xmas shopping.

I hate that you are going through this too, but i am so glad to know i am not alone with this. How is your little ones ear? ...And sorry, is it a boy you have? This has all been a bit backwards with no proper introductions...
Thanks again

Hi bumbly, I've setup a temporary email account, it's [email protected]

If you email me at that address, then I'll know your email address, and I can send you the photo's from my normal account.

Hope that makes sense ! (saves us having to put our details on a public forum)

Hi
No problems, I will keep checking.
Hope you are all better in time for Xmas.

Just so you know, we went to the hospital Monday. They took blood to test for various allergies and also to check liver function, kidney function, thyroid and stomach infection ????? Apparently problems with any of these things can cause puffy eyes.

They also said it can definitly be caused by teething due to inflammation in the general area of the face. Also the possibility of virus though or post viral symptom so it could happen after being poorly.....doc really didnt seem sure of anything!

We are also being referred to an opthamologist.

Feeling a bit better that at leat they are looking into it....its a start.

The eyelid is alot less puffy today.

Hope you are all feeling better in time for Xmas, hows your little one doing? i get really down when the kids are ill. Thinking of you.

E mail when you get chance.
Best Wishes
Jo x
