she was really ill over the weekend with bronchiolitis, wasnt feeding ended up in hospital after her going blue....

anyway she is ALOT better now just blocked up a bit and chesty cough but she still isnt feeding, will take 2-3oz every 3-4 hours if we are lucky...she will drink baby juice though (hates water and really needed to get fluids in her) they were considering keeping her in sat night to tube feed her but let her home.

what can i do to make her dirnk some milk? she hasnt had any milk since about 4 o'clock but has had juice since then. will be waking her in the next hour to try and get milk in her (she has had about 6oz today)

got doc in morning cos im really worried about her not feeding....have tried feeding her little and often but she wont take it, do i just let have as much milk as she will and then let her drink juice between?

i would just give her milk. but i would see the doctor or spk to a mw. x

i saw the doctor today and he suggested juice because she wouldnt take milk or water, aslong as she is taking it i dont mind what she has, we were in hospital twice at weekend because of how ill she was and paed suggested juice too because he saw her not take milk or water.

thinking about this post, I remember a horrible week where DS wouldn't feed. It was boiling hot and he was dehydrated.

I ended up using the syringe from baby neurofen to drip water into his mouth.

god that sounds awful, i know she shouldnt have baby juice and its a waste of money but its worth its weight in gold atm, as thats all she will drink...worried about her weight though cos she had dropped to 25th centile last week and next week when she gets weighed she is bound to have lost it again...they will have to take this into account though

she drank 6oz of milk at 4pm (aptamil instead of sma cos i find its not as thick) but only juice since...but its a start!

I think the thing to remember here is 'it's a phase'

as with everything.

Ditch the SMA (I hate it) and try anything else.

Hate to mention, but at 14wo, she might already bbe teething. Try Neurofen 20 mins before a feed, then 'Teetha' from Waitrose (better than Ashton & Passons)

Otherwise - don't woory. Basecally; less than 3 days = OK. More than that, contact GP directly.

She has been like it since Thursday doctor said yesterday it's a combination of the bronchiolitis and apparently the amoxicillin she is on will reduce her appetite, she took 6oz at 11:30pm last night buy only an oz since! She is talking away though so she is happy enough!
