so dd has been in hospital now for 24 hours and has been diagnosed with staphyococcal scalded skin syndrome and impetigo of the eyes. Yes, it is as nasty as it sounds. Still so brave even though the crusts over her eyes were too thick to penetrate with warm water today. Just cant believe how quickly this has all come on and how poorly she is.

oh good gracious, your poor dd I hope that they can get on top of it very quickly.

she keeps smiling. It is so hard not to cry infront of her. Just wish i could hold her but it hurts her too much. Its her 4th birthday just after christmas she is so excited. She keeps talking about her nursery nativity next week and being an angel. What do i tell her?

How is she doing today? (sorry didn't get back to the thread)

dont worry too much, she will recover from this and her skin shouldnt look any different. It rarely scars as li=ong as they dont pick the scabby bits. Hope she isnt feeling too poorly. It looks alot worse than it really is.

she is in the right place and i think you will be surprised how quickly she recovers. Sorry about the typos

Hope your smiley girl is recovering well and home soon in time for her angel role (she certainly sounds angelic)! And wishing her a lovely birthday after Christmas.
