Dd1 has been ill all weekend with high temps (around 39), sore throat, lack of appetite, sleepiness and was vommiting on Friday and Saturday.

She seems better today, but I have kept her off school. It was the pantomine today, which she was looking forward to. But it is in another town about an hours drive away.

She is travel sick at the best of times. Plus if she does start feeling ill there is no one who would be able to collect her from that far away.

I will no doubt have the EWO around soon, questioning my choices. She turns up every time dd1 is off as she had a lot of time off last year, with bowel troubles. The school have decided I just acnnot be bothered to take her in, even though they have letters from her specialist and the GP.

If I take her now, she should catch the bus to the panto, but I'm still not sure she should go. I don't think a hot theatre and long, hot bus ride will help her today. Plus she is still not eating and complaining of feeling sick.

You have done the right thing.

1 - she is obv not up for such a journey
2 - she won't enjoy it
3 - you will worry about her the whole time

Thanks. I thought I was. I just feel bad that she is missing the panto. But the college near her school is putting on a special show on Wed (her birthday) she should be able to go to and in Jan she is going to see her old dance school's panto.
