ds been ill for 3 weeks

he started with a cough and cold 3 weeks ago its still with him - cough really bad also during that time he has had sickness and diareoh(sp)
he was coughing so bad last night we didnt get much sleep.
we have been to the gp 2 times so far ,they keep saying it will go away eventually but we feel so sorry for him ,the sneezing has started up bad again over night - its just endless - what can i do ???
tried that vicks on the feet it did help a bit

thanks riven - its just getting silly now - poor lad ,hes so tired because of the cough but when he lays down it gets worse,appetite off, dh just took him to the gp on friday afternoon and she said if he gets worse then to bring him in mid week ,but when they listen top his chest its clear.

shes sounds alot worse than my ds - hope you get some answers too xx

he is worse tonight have called for an out of hours doctors appoinment - he is flushed ,no appetite and complaing of tummy pain - really worried

Oh dear - it sounds like he might have a chest infection.

You've definitely done the right thing to call the OOH GP.

How is he now?

he is ok this morning the gp looked in his ears and said one of them looked inflammed so has given antibiotics ,started them last night ,he slept much better ,his chest was clear again .
he never once said his ears hurt ??

we to ringing gp dd as been ill for 4 weeks now first time chest infection, got abbs second week still weezing took back sent to hospital gp said she neeeded steroids , hospital checks her sends her home saying chest clear, same week after , now same again as pump still ill and still trying to keep temp down, every time we do get it down when meds wears off its back up again
