my almost 3yo ds has been sick several times since 7 this morning. He has only brought up white foamy stuff, he was bfing in the night so assume its milk. He did'nt eat much yesterday but did'nt seem unwell. He's been lying on the couch for most of the day apart from a while in the morning when he was terrorising our dogs! He does'nt seem very hot but i noticed the last time he was sick that he felt quite sweaty. What i find strange is that he was sick 3 times around 7/8 this morning then not again until 2 0'clock, any other time my kids have had a bug they just seem to keep being sick until their stomach is empty.

He was actually sick about a month ago. He was sick at teatime and then again about 5 hours later and after that was fine. Also my 6 yo dd had mild diahorreah starting last friday and ending on sunday, not sure if the two are connected as she was'nt sick.

What is the likelyhood of this being a bug and what are my chances of catching it? I have a phobia of being sick and also suffer from health anxiety which i've received cbt for which seems to be helping, but i am trying not to get too panicky about this.

poor soul has just been sick again, how do keep him hydrated? i had given him some flat pepsi as i've heard that flat cola is meant to settle an upset stomach but he just brought it up. I don't want to keep giving him fluids if he's going to bring it right back up. He gets very distressed each time he's sick. I am very worried about him dehydrating though as he ended up in hospital with dehydration a couple of years ago with a sickness bug, he was so ill and had to be put on a drip and then had a tube up his nose.

You could give him electolyte, you can buy it from the chemist and supermarkets, its a mixture of sugar and salt to replace lost fluids. But basically give him anything that he will drink, obviously child drinks.

Flat lemonade, water whatever he will keep down, just make sure you do it at regular intervals.

here is Dr Sears page on vomiting.

hope DC improves.

hi sorry i'm only replying now but did'nt get a chance yesterday. My ds has'nt been sick since around 4 o'clock yesterday and he even asked for a tuna sandwich in the evening, which he ate, crusts and all. He slept pretty well through the night but today he is very clingy and does'nt want to eat. He's just been lying on the couch all day. He has been breastfeeding frequently so i know he's getting fluids.

I hate to see him like this, i just want him better and back to his usual boisterous self.

Just let him ride it out, he will ask for what his body needs, keep BFing him that will encourage the good bacteria to grow in his tummy again. You can get baby pro biotics, they can help.

had an awful night with ds, i had him in with me. He kept waking up and saying his tummy was sore and he cried so much that i was getting really worried, he seemed to be in so much pain. This morning he woke up and asked for a drink which i gave him, ten minutes later he brought it back up. I was surprised as he had'nt been sick since tuesday afternoon. He also had diahoreah. He's now fast asleep in my bed but i am worried about him. I have to go to work tonight and really don't want to leave him.
