Urine sample from an 11 month old

Any suggestions please on how to get a urine sample from a poorly 11 month old daughter. I've been given a stick on bag to go in the nappy, which hasn't worked and just tried sitting her on a potty for over 1/2 hour, until she screamed so much that I gave up. Any thoughts would be very welcome.

Can you try the bag again. Get her to drink loads as you'll fimd some will come out as the rest goes in !

what do you mean by stick on bag?

whenever I have had to do urine samples form a non-potty trained child, I have used the Newcastle urine collection system. it's like a sanitary pad that you put in the nappy until the child wees, and then you can collect the wee from it afterwards.

could you ask your gp/hv for this system?

Sorry Lilly, I was going to suggest the stick on bag thing. Not terribly dignified but should do the trick if you give her plenty of fluids. What goes in must come out.
