22 mth ds still has cradle cap what can i use.....

he has always had it really bad and its ben a knightmare to shift ive used olive oil before and detinox shampoo. Im just finding it alot harder beacuse he has a full head of hair which is coming out with it . Do i just keep bathing with olive oil?? Should i leave it over night and brush it out?? It just seems to be coming back.

I feel for you. My DS (now 2.6) still has cradle cap and he has really thick hair. Dentinox does shift it, but it comes back every week and every weekend I have to get rid of it again ( perhaps I should wash it more often?). I wash his hair in the bath then brush it through until all the flakes are out. Hopefully someone will come along with an answer.

Hope this dosent sound obvious or nsulting to your intelligience, but i have found the main factor in stopping cradle cap reoccuring is making sure that you wash all the shampoo out, using clean water rather than the bubbly bath water IYSWIM.

Easier said than done with wriggly little ones, i know!

DS1 who is 4 yrs old, still had CC until just recently.

It never bothered me, his hair covered it.

What has just shifted it is 2 washes and a good scratch while lathering up with Loreal anti dandrufff shampoo with ceramide something or other. It is in a navy and orange bottle.

2 washes with that and its gone.

Olive oil, dentinox and a nit comb to comb it out worked for dd.

Both mine had cradle cap, I've never done anything to it. DD1 is 6 and there is still a bit here and there, DD2 is three and has still got quite a lot. It does no harm, so I leave it alone. I rarely shampoo their hair, it gets rinsed in the bath most nights, but only shampoo'd about once a month, and I use a very mild shampoo.

I'd just leave it alone!

Agree surfermum I do the same. Nit comb lifts it all out beautifully and veyr gently

I used Head & Shoulders on dd.... You obviously have to be careful to rinse it out properly and avoid it getting in eyes etc. but it was the only thing that shifted it. Two washes got rid of it completely
