hi, looking for some advice. my 4 yr old caught his big toe under a door and pulled the top part of his nail back. it didn't bleed too much but it was clearly agony for him, poor thing. the nail is still attached, i put savlon and a plaster over it. is there anything else i should do?

Wait for it to turn black and fall off.

Sorry not to be more positive, it'll probably grow back again, but in the short term your DS will be a bit sore.

You must have done something similar yourself at some point?

If he will let you, trim it as short as you can, and try to keep it trimmed. Do it while he is asleep if necessary. And keep it covered. It will either settle down or eventually fall off as the new mail grows underneath. This hit isn't painful - it usually stops hurting as soon as the bruising goes down.
