Dry cough

What's the best thing to help a dry cough? Ds (11) is coughing especially at night but it'S a really dry cough.

Boil a kettle and fill a bowl with steamy water and olbus oil in the bedroom. Some say wet towels on hot radiators but I think that still dries the air out. Anything to make the air moist.
