Headlice/nits - is the Vosene

leave in spray any good?
Ds2 has been a nursery for a whole 2 weeks and we have already had lice, these have now gone but when i comb through at bath time I keep finding the one or two!!

worth buying some or am I wasting my money?

I've been using Vosene shampoo and it seems to be keeping the little blighters away from my DC. Sounds like they are being reinfected each day at nursery. Would it be worth having a word with the staff and asking them to remind parents to treat their kids?

Incidentally tea tree oil is cheaper and can be decanted into a water spray bottle and diluted!

I invested in a nittygritty comb and a cheap bottle of conditioner, the comb was a little on the expensive side but well worth it as it takes the eggs out if you comb thoroughly. I Just combed every night and I managed to keep on top of it, my dd has shoulder lengh thick hair and its nothing short of a nightmare....but keep combing!!

I use the Vosene leave in spray every morning on dd, who is nearly 6 - have done since she started REception a year ago. I also plait her hair, which is just below shoulder length...no nits so far, and there have been tons in her class both last term and this.

Worth a try, IMO!

I just use a water spray with a few drops of tea tree oil in the bottle, and spray the kids hair every morning.

It's worked ok so far.

sure i have some tee tree oil in the cupboard - so will try that first.

He only has short hair but he's very fair so thats probably why i spotted them straight away. My older son has never had them, must have been lucky!

Vosene shampoo and spray everytime i shampoo their hair (every other day) and once a week - ok when i remember - nitty gritty comb to check both my dds are nit free. Will be doing plaits too- -good idea.
