Mouthwash for an eight year old?

Just tidying up and found some I had bought ages ago - quiet possible 2 years ago as it says for 6 and over - and first, would you let your 8 year old use it and secondly is it okay if it has been in my cupboard for 2 years?

Does an eight year old need mouthwash or is it just a gimmick?

I have seen kids mouthwash for age 6+ but wouldnt use one that has been open for 2 years. I am sure my mouthwash says to discard when it has been open for 3 or 6 months (cant remember which and cant be bothered going upstairs to check).

It hasn't been opened. Of course I wouldn't use it if it had.
