Hi. Just wondering if anyone can offer me any advice. My 4 month old DS has what looks like a scratch running horizontally along the cornea of his left eye below the pupil. My husband noticed it a few weeks ago but we thought it was just a trapped eyelash (that is exactly what it looks like) But we had a good look last night and it's still there. It's quite difficult to see as it's low down on his eye. His eye is not red and it doesn't seem to be bothering him in any way. Does anyone have any experience of anything like this? I'm just wondering if we should make a doctor's appointment or just mention it to the health visitor when we see her next week.

Anything you think that looks not right really needs to be checked by a hospital eye specialist - ask for a referral from your GP.

Thanks... we've been having another look and cannot see anything there now!! Will keep looking hard and if I see something again will make a GP's appt...

Hello, my baby has this line also in her cornea, i noticed it when i was feeding her. I remember when i gave her a snack and cried because she accidentally scratched her eyes with the snack. Im so worried, did you had your baby a check up? Was the scratched on your baby's eye just gone? Is there a side effect after years? Thanks!

defintly second asking for a referral t o get it checked, a corneal scratch is very painful so i doubt its that.

may just be an area of pigment in the iris??

My baby is happy and active after a minute, it seems that the line on her cornea doesn't bother her and when i checked again, the line was gone and she's perfectly normal..
