We are travelling to London tomorrow!
Tell me it's a midge bite.
Would I be a bad mother if I just ignore it and hope it goes of it's own accord?
He says it has been there a few days, is itchy and sore and he waits until this time to let us know.

that was where ds' first chicken pox spot came out ... about 2 days before the rest!

serinBrightside · 28/08/2009 20:59

Oh God no!
He hasn't had chicken pox
Have booked Lion King and train and been looking forward to this for weeks.

fingers crossed it isn't but ds timed his perfectly to mean that we didn't get to go on our holiday a month ago!

FluffySaysTheDailyMailsShite · 28/08/2009 21:19

I don't think it would be chicken pox if he's had this for a few days and has no more. Is it oozing?

tummytickler · 28/08/2009 21:22

I am a very bad mother, and as long as it wasn't causing him pain and discomfort i would wack on a load od Sudocreme (so i feel as though i am doing something!) and go!
All mine have been poorly for a day or two before hand when they have had chicken pox, has he had a temperature or been a general ratbag? That might give you a clue.

My DD4 developed Moluscum around her bottom, is it possible he has that?

Very itchy and can flare up as red possibly pussy spots, sorry TMI, spread really easily but can only be treated if badly inflamed with Fucidin cream, other than that they just run the course of up to 18 months.

mrsdisorganised · 28/08/2009 21:29

This is a idea of Molluscum. www.patient.co.uk/health/Molluscum-Contagiosum-in-Children.htm My dd is fine and she has a few non red spots, apparently there is no 'treatment' my GP has said.

serinBrightside · 28/08/2009 22:29

Thanks all, we have decided (bar him being covered in chicken pox by the morning) to go. Bodiddly, you poor thing. hope you managed a holiday since.

The molluscum thing sounds plausible enough, one of his friends has it.
