Chicken pox with no scabs?

Hello,

My son had his MMR jab about 10 days ago, and last week had a fever for 4 days, then became covered in spots. I took him to the docs who diagnosed chickenpox.

The fever's gone now, and the spots have subsided but are still there. One looks a little bit like a mini-lovebite. In total, he's had the spots for 5 days.

I'm taking him back to the docs this afternoon, but in anyone's experience, can you have chickenpox but the spots don't turn into scabs?

doesnt sound like chicken pox. could it have been a measles rash from the MMR as that is a common side effect 7-10 days after the injection?
